Question Using ddu for the first time to switch from nvidia to amd

I'm getting a 7900xtx coming from a 3070. what should I do step by step?

I'm going to use ddu which i never used before and since I built my pc with a 7950x3d it already had the previous adrenaline edition driver. Do I need to uninstall amd also or can i just update it to the newer driver?

You can upgrade the AMD driver directly and use DDU to clean up the NVIDIA one.

Best to update BIOS, Windows and Adrenalin drivers to the latest versions. Install the AMD chipset drivers after changing the GPU for the AMD card.

I've already updated everything besides the previous version of adrenalin driver so I'll just wait until i put my amd card in and do that.
I have a 7950x3d and it's still on the most current driver at the time of this post.

using ddu is like using CMD command line to do simple tasks .
you can simply uninstall your current nvidia driver from control panel .
then install the AMD software .
even if you don't uninstall the nvidia driver , i bet you would hardly run into any software issues .

When I built my pc with a 7950x3d it automatically came with adrenaline edition with an early driver because the 7950x3d has a integrated graphic I have yet to run into an issue having that with my 3070

you can try windows 11 drivers that are issued with windows update if your computer has tpm 2.0 and can run win 11 . then run the games if they start up there is no issue whatsoever , but if they don't then clean install the latest AMD software for your card . simple as that , ddu is not needed whatsoever .
