I have hooked up my PC to a DTV plasma screen in the hope of using this setup as the center piece of my home entertainment center. The idea is to be able to play DVDs, internet video stream, etc on the plasma display as well as use the PC as a PVR.
Hooking up the PC to the screen via the RGB output works well in 640x480, 800x600 or 1024x768 except for the fact the aspect ration is lost. Is there a driver that would allow me to display the PC image in the screen native resolution (852x480) thus allowing for the aspect ration to remain correct? Or is there a video card that is geared towards this application?
The plasma screen is the Gateway 46in and the PC is a Dell 4600 with a 128MB DDR NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200.
Thank you in advance for your suggestion/
