My system spec:
-FX 6300 @ 4.6 GHz
-HIS Radeon R9 270x ICEQ X2 2GB GDDR5

There is an update for AMD Radeon user, and thats the Catalyst Omega. One of the most exciting feature for me is that now GVR supports recording on Mantle API. The reason because switching to mantle delivers a huge amount of fps while gaming in comparison of dx11. Maybe on expensive CPU this improvement doesnt feel much but its a different story when using cheap cpu like my fx 6300. Lets see what kind of improvement that the new catalyst will deliver. Onto the Battlefield 4 test range!

FYI: the settings of my battlefield 4 is all medium, aa and antisoptric filtering to off, and ambient oclusion set to ssao. I upped the resolution scale to 125% where for some reason, mantle works flawlessly this way (on 2GB cards).

Before this, i record my BF 4 gameplay with dx11. its good but not perfect. Still droping to 35 fps on some occasion. So i installed the catalyst omega, uninstall the amd gaming evolve app then install a new driver and a new amd gaming evolve app that come bundled in with the installer. Went to test range and record the gameplay using dx11. there's noticeable lag while recording. I shoot through tanks and when it explode, the fps drop somewhere from 65 to 45. After 2 minutes, i stop the recording and quit the game. Watched my gameplay and test range it was good. No tearing, just fps drops.

Then i change it to Mantle. The fps flies (not recording yet) from 95-100. Hopped into the helicopter and then start to recording. First, i explode the oil tank near the parked helicopter up close with it. It drops to from 83 to 49 fps. Well thats a huge one so i move on to blowing up the tanks. Blowed up the tank and the fps still 78-80 when the explosion occured. Same as before but now while recording a 1080p @60 fps. After 2 minutes, i land the chopper then call it done.

Watch the footage of the mantle API and it drop my excitement. The screen tearing is unbearble. But AMD just supporting GVR with the mantle which is a good thing. I just put my hope for a future update that will fix this.

Anyone experience the same with me? Maybe the problem is due to capping the fps to 60 while i know that mantle doesnt like being capped resulted in crazy tearing..
