[SOLVED] Using i7-8700 with DDR2400 RAM

A friend of mine is upgrading this system and is willing to sell me his i7-8700 for cheap. I think I can just drop it into my current system (see below), correct?

i3-8100
G.Skill DDR4 2400 (15-15-15-35)
Gigabyte B360H (Intel B360)

I know the MB supports the i7, I assume there must be some way for me to run the i7 slower so it works with the DDR2400, right? Will that happen automatically or will I need to mess around with multipliers?

There will be no issue - both CPU's are from the same gen so you should be find just to drop the new cpu into the board - the ram isn't changing so shouldn't need to change any settings for that.
