I have a DVD writer from my Inspiron 1420 laptop, which I'd like to reuse in my desktop. Problem is, I'm not sure how to do it. The model is Toshiba Samsung TS-L632. The solution can be either using it externally or internally, but external is preferable.

Here is the DVD writer connector:

Also the front bay is a bit weird because it's not symmetrical (might prevent it from being used internally):

P.S.: any help is greatly appreciated, but thank you for not suggesting me to buy a new $20 DVD writer 😉

I looked at My Acer AME600 PC today and noticed that Acer used a laptop dvd drive on a pc. what I saw was that that they screwed a bracket under the drive so it would fit in a pc. The connector of your drive looks different so I am not sure if the connector will fit a pc.
