Question Using nas drive as regular storage device

Hello. Can I use this Seagate ironwolf pro nas 4tb drive as a storage drive for my desktop pc? I'm seeing that is network device would be mistake if use it. I need it for photos and video storage

It is a nas drive - designed for use in a nas.
It is not a nas itself.

You can install and use it as any other internal drive. It doesn't necessary have to be installed in a nas.

Thanks, i understand. Any observation on the model? Seems my old toshiba appears with bad sectors very short after start using it

It's a fine choice.
CMR drive, designed for 24/7 operation , mainly read workloads.

4TB is rather small for storing videos though. Those take a lot of space.
May be consider a larger capacity model.

I have 4 of those in a 4 bay external enclosure, attached to my NAS.

And yes, you can use it in a regular PC.

Thanks. Currently 4tb is enough for me. I hope to be reliable for my needs
