Using normal W 8.1 install disc with W 8.1 Pro product key.

Hi

So I would like to change my motherboard and cpu soon and by doing that I have to reinstall Windows 8.1. I study at a school where I got a free Windows 8.1 Pro product key and a link to the full download, which I can then burn to a dvd, but I was wondering if my normal Windows 8.1 disc (which is not the pro version) would do the trick? If I could just use that cd and then just use the Pro product key? Would that work? Or do I have to get a dvd and burn the Windows 8.1 Pro version on it?

A Pro license will not work with a regular install DVD. You need to dl and burn the Pro install.
