Question Using the OS drive from my old PC in my new build?

Hi,

I'm prepping for my second PC build and am wondering if its possible to transfer the drive on which my OS is currently installed (a Samsung 960 EVO 500GB) from my old PC to my new one. Could I then use that as my boot drive and essentially have the same computer, just with all new components, etc.?

I'm planning to go with the MSI MEG Unify LGA 1700 for my MoBo.

Maybe its a simple question, but my only other build was completely from scratch, so I never had the opportunity to reuse my old boot drive in the new machine.

You can recycle the drive, yes but you can't recycle the OS. You will need to reinstall the OS but you can use the licensing on it on the new platform.

Oh right, that makes sense. So, would I....uninstall windows on my old PC before switching everything over?
