[SOLVED] Using tv as primary Display Good/Bad?

So i am trying to breathe new life to my ancient of a pc by doing a some upgrades, currently i am using an Acer G195HQ which i got with my pc about 10 years ago, the display only has a VGA port with max resolution of 1280 x 1024, so for my pc upgrade i am planning to get new a gpu with which i would also get 2 new display port and get rid of this monitor i am currently using. I have an old Sony Bravia tv i am planning to use it will it be a good idea to use it as a primary display?And if in future i want to play some games will the display be some kind of issue?

I did not see a display port listed for the Tv. HDMI is fine for gaming up to 60fps and 1080p cards can purchased for a song these days. You may want to put in 16Gb of ram. what are the system specs?

since its a 10 years old ancient pc, 4gb is the max memory i can give 🙁 atleast thats what my mobo supports,not sure what is the max ram capacity for my cpu
well how will my memory affect my display though?

It probably has high lag, so not a great choice for games that place a premium on reaction time.
Other than that, it should be fine using HDMI for 1080p60.

what makes it different than a typical monitor?

In general, TVs do some color correction and other processing which adds a few milliseconds of lag.

Some TVs have a 'game mode' that turns that processing off for more responsiveness.

Computer monitors typically do not do this processing (or do less of it), so they have a little better response time.

what kind of games u want play on old pc?u can only use that pc for watch movies from pc...

i mean in future when i upgrade to a descent midranger pc i could save some bucks on my monitor right?And yes currently my pc serves for watching videos browsing and i am learning coding so it isnt a probem yet, however its because of my pc that i do not game.

u cant flash bios to get better picture on tv..see spec of your tv and graphic card...that is all...buy some good hdmi 1.4 dont go for cheep
