So Im in process of buying a new monitor and while I love VA for their deep blacks and better contrast Im so afraid of the black smearing.
Ive seen videos which look really terrible, so I was more leaning toward IPS and kinda accept that I wont get better blacks and contrast. Until I realized something while trying my 1080p 60hz MVA Phillips model.
And I didnt notice any black smearing at all! Now my question would be, is it something that's non existent on 60hz and only can be seen from like 120hz+?
Which leads me to the next question, if I can cap my new 1440p 165hz monitor to 60hz, I will still have 1440p resolution graphics but can set refresh rate at 60hz, and play games with no smearing at all?
Am I thinking right?
