Question Value Build

I am looking to put together a value micro ATX build purchasing hardware that is a generation back. I have dual screen 1080p monitors and plan on doing light video editing on Power Director and some occasional light gaming (nothing too graphically demanding). I came up with the following build for $1,001.31

I would be willing to spend a hundred more or so if a good reason could be rationalized for doing so.

Would like to ask the forum to advise on this build and provide recommendations on either better components or better prices. Also point out any potential compatibility issues.

Would like to purchase everything directly from New Egg (and none of their partner stores) Appreciate your help and a best answer will be selected.

I would say spring for a z690 board. There are some nice looking AsRock ddr4 z690 boards for 130 or so.

I know you’re planning to go with Newegg, but if you go on Amazon, they’ve got the Thermalright peerless assassin and their phantom spirit coolers that are about 30-35 bucks and are pretty good for the money.

I overshot the budget with this list, so apologies for that. However it is superior and may be worth your money. If you want to stick with your chosen PC case, price will drop a little closer to $1000
You can also pick a cheaper GPU.

Here it is:

The AsRock Pro is just an average motherboard without any upside to it. z690 Extreme was a flagship previous gen motherboard that's dropped in price.
Better chipset, better compatibility with power hungry intels, upgradeable all the way to i9 14900KS should you choose to do this some day. Maybe not but it gives you options.
I would suggest keeping an eye on the price of the 14700K, as it's the perfect CPU for this.
Audio, storage, etc. are all good on the Extreme. Worth the money.

Scythe Fuma 3 is a better cooler than the Arctic though not by that much.
It's nice in that it's offset away from RAM, so you can install tall RAM sticks without penalty.
But you can stick with your Arctic 36 choice, no problem.

Nevermind... Fuma 3 is not on newegg. *sigh*

G.Skill Ripjaws is slightly faster. Also, it's Ripjaws. Can't go wrong with it.

MP44 is a more dependable NVMe.

GPU is your call. The Challenger 7800XT costs more but performs better. A ~$300 GPU is not going to have long legs. If you don't want/need more, take the RTX 4060 instead of the 6750XT.
But it's up to you.

You picked a good PSU. The Vertex is a jump in price and quality. I would...

The case really should be left to you. The Antec C8 is a suggestion. It ticks all the boxes, so buy it if you like it.

Win 11 download is sometimes cheaper than a USB-stick in a box. Sometimes those don't work properly so you're better off creating your own USB-installer using the Rufus tool and a Win 11 image (downloaded from Microsoft only!)
I would buy the license as that can be used on future PCs unlike an OEM license which is tied to one specific PC. Saving $20 and buying an OEM license is a raw deal.

You can also skip buying a license, at least for a while. Win 11 will work, it will display a watermark nagging you to license it.
The smart thing to do is to buy a license right away. Again, up to you.
