[citation][nom]the_krasno[/nom]I tried it, it crashed. Had to uninstall steam, lost all my games and now have to re download them.So fat I'm the only one that had that problem. Oh well, it teaches me this:BETA = NOT QUITE READY FOR RELEASE, PROCEED WITH CARE.[/citation]

runs fine with me. LOL

Good to go here! So far I'll give it a 1 thumb up, unless they have the minimized version (where it could be just a column on your screen) like the current one.

I don't buy steam games, and the only reason I have it installed is for MW2. MW2 isn't nearly good enough for me to care about backing up the files. I'm content with never playing it again, so not downloading it was the option I chose. Uninstalled steam, and I'm perfectly content.

[citation][nom]jkflipflop98[/nom]The UI beta seems to be bricking Steam clients running Win7 x64. You don't have to uninstall and lose all your games, you can just redownload the Steam installer and choose the "repair" option. Some folks reported having to do this twice.[/citation]

No bricking yet and I am running 7 x64. Maybe they have something setup wrong via Steam.

Steam is great now that they cranked up the speeds in northern europe (5.8 meg/sec last purchase), now if they just got the prices right (No 1 euro is still NOT 1 dollar...) i wouldn't mind get all my purchases through them.

Just backup your steamapps folder next time.

Umm that's pretty much what beta means anyway, shouldn't be something you have to learn 😛 You play with betas you might get burned.

[citation][nom]Brother Shrike[/nom]drag the steamapps folder and your SourceMods folder onto the other drive. Uninstall steam, reinstall on the other drive, and put your steamapps and sourcemods folders back in the steam directory. Problem solved.[/citation]
Thanks Brother, I'll try that.

Downloaded it last night and it bricked at 27% updating. Reran it again (after waiting a few minutes) and it bricked again. Tried one more time and it installed. It's a clean interface but I couldn't get to the store or read any news as it was having issues. So, I opted out of the beta and it bricked again. Did the same thing as before and finally got it all back to the original client.

Not sure why this bricking is going on. Some are saying it's due to anti-virus software (such as Avast which I run). I've turned Avast off and it still isn't working. It's really strange but it started happening this past week if I try to update the client when there's an update available.

Nice, good to see Steam drop the old tech for something much more robust. Webkit rocks. I'll be checking this out tonight!

Running it on w7 64 Home.
Couldn't get to the store or news until I unchecked an IE setting for auto-detecting a proxy server. Which was odd...

Since then, it's been okay.
