Three weeks ago SprintPCS announced the Nokia 6225, but it wasnt
available till yesterday?

http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040415/cgth006_1.html

SprintPCS announces the Sanyo PM-8200 on April 15, 2004.

" The new phone is available nationwide in Sprint Stores and online at
www.sprintpcs.com for $129.99 after rebates (SRP: $279.99). "

Except, contrary to the Press Release it is not yet available at the
website, which still lists the 8100.

The Sanyo web site no longer lists the 8100.

The 8200 adds FLASH, Speaker Phone, ReadyLink capability, digital zoom,
VGA resolution, SMS capability and your choice of three colors over
what the 8100 had.

A lot of features for the $30 extra.

Its kinda like the VM4500, but it won't do VideoClips, and it has the
1.8" screen of the 8100 rather than the 2.1" screen of the VM4500,
which now shows as Out of Stock on SprintPCS' website.

Just because a company announces that they will carry something,
doesn't mean that it is instantly available.

The Press release said it was. It isn't.

They did say "We will carry it:".

They said "Is now available".

Slight difference. Don't get mad at me because the SprintPCS marketing
department is totally disorganized. I'm just reporting that the Press
Release is incorrect.

You just contradicted yourself. Obviously, you are *not* "just
reporting" that. You've also editorialized.

Is the 8200 on the website yet, or is it editorializing to say the press
release a week ago said it was there then.

Well, I do fail to see where it mentions in the press release (that
you linked above) that it was available at that date?

And the ones that my stores got in (about a 2:1 ration of blue and
red) didn't seem like "vaporware", and neither do the cases of silver
ones that are in transit (UPS tracking numbers verified, too).

And the PM6225 is being delayued a little for testing. Wasn't it you,
Robert M, Phil, or whatever you name is, who was complaining that
Sprint "releases phones with bugs in them". I guess you can't be
happy either way.

They can't launch the product fast enough for you, when the press
release says they'll carry it, yet they can't test it enough.

Which do you want? More testing and a longer wait, or less testing
and a sooner release?
