Bought a new gpu for my laptop, but apparently it came with a different vbios than my previous one had so now i can't see any picture. What options, if any, do i have to fix that issue?

Video BIOS is the BIOS of a graphics card in a (usually IBM PC-derived) computer.

Much the way the system BIOS provides a set of functions that are used by software programs to access the system hardware, the video BIOS provides a set of video-related functions that are used by programs to access the video hardware. The video BIOS interfaces software to the video chipset in the same way that the system BIOS does for the system chipset. The ROM also contained a basic font set to upload to the video adapter font RAM, if the video card did not contain a font ROM with this font set instead.

Unlike some other hardware components, the video card usually needs to be active very early during the boot process so that the user can see what is going on. This requires the card to be activated before any operating system begins loading; thus it needs to be activated by the BIOS, the only software that is present at this early stage.

Early PCs contained functions for driving MDA and CGA cards in the system BIOS, and those cards did not have any Video BIOS built in. When the EGA card hit the market in 1984, the Video BIOS was introduced to make these cards compatible with existing PCs whose BIOS did not know how to drive an EGA card. Ever since, EGA/VGA and all enhanced VGA compatible cards have included a Video BIOS.

When the computer is started, some graphics cards (usually certain Nvidia cards) display their vendor, model, BIOS version and amount of graphics memory.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the history lesson 😀 unfortunately though it didn't help me at all. What i need to know is there a way to update my laptops bios to match my new gpu bios? Ive had my laptop for 5 years in which i haven't done any bios updates.

LOL how was that history? XD I think you should of updated your bios before you switched GPUS. I honestly thought all Laptop's gpus were integrated.

I had no chance to update my bios cause my previous gpu got fried. I've been seeking help here for almost a week now, and all my responses have been just plain weird to be honest. I'm sorry but i sincerely do not need to know how was the market back in the 80's and what card did this and that. It has nothing to do with me. I'm just here hoping that somebody gives me some kind of a straighyforward answer about what kind of options do i have to update my bios!

What mobo do you have? the exact model nomber please

Im sorry but i'm not sure which one of those many numbers on that mobo is the model number. Do you have any idea maybe in what order these numbers might be (is there any letters, how many all together etc.)

Tell me if this helps:

Im sorry to say this but if this were a desktop i would asked/ done a better job with you. I recommened you ro start a nee thread so that you can get some fresher answers. I'm very sorry.🙂V)

Update

Try to plug your laptop to another monitor or tv to see if that would work

In a matter of fact i already have 2 additional threads running in parallel, but to be honest i'm not even sure that running 20 threads at a same time will get me any further.
But i sure appreciate your time and help!

Anytime XD
