vcore voltage question

Hey i just overclocked my i5-6600k to 4.1 ghz and set my voltage at 1.152 but my vcore is at 2.5v.
Is this safe or have i missunderstood what vcore is?

Are you syre your vcore is 2.5v? Because that's insane. What are you getting that reading from? Are you sure that's not your 2.5v supply?

I'd check on some other software just to make sure. I don't trust that readout because all your other readings are pretty stable. Basically anything over 1.5v for vCore is approaching danger zone. 2.5v is call the fire brigade time..

i checked with cpu-z and there on core voltage its 1.152v so i guess hwmonitor shows wrong?

I would guess yes. Just to be safe, check with HWInfo too https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php

I doubt your system would even stay on with a 2.5 vCore tho so HWMonitor is probably just misreading it
