Question Vegas Pro 12 Extremely laggy?

Hi all,
i wasn’t really sure where to ask this in the forum so I put it here,

Recently I’ve started a mini project on Vegas pro 12 and what never seemed to be a problem before has appeared. Basically, the preview is extremely laggy. Like, draft quarter mode still laggy laggy. I’ve edited many videos before and good full worked very smoothly. Only difference now is the video is 4K 60fps instead of 1080p 30fps. Does this make all the difference?

All the fixes online don’t seem to work very well at all, is my only option pre-rendering?
If so, which type would you recommend (e.g. shift+b or shift+m)

8GB DDR4 Ram
Nvidia 940MX
2TB HDD

Are you using a Linux OS or windows version? Open source is for linux OS not windows.

Seems that its the gpu you are using possibly. AMD seems to be better at rendering. The link below as suggestions to help fix issues.

Try reading the section about 11-14 versions of vegas pro. Make sure your dtivers are up to date for the gpu. The gpu you have now may not be able to render but plays 4k.
