Velcro, and my HDD

Alright, so unlike some people I use 2.5inch hard drives instead of the full sized ones so it makes it rather difficult to mount in my computer. I was looking into buying a new case that had specifc mounts for them but I'm trying to save money and I was wondering if it would be safe for me to just put velcro on it and mount it on the inside of the case

If its an SSD, eh should work. For a platter drive I wouldn't recommend it. Why not just buy a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter?
