To you lucky Americans out there: get the Vertex 4 128GB for 80$ while it's on sale. Stumbled across this when making a build for some guy.

Close this post when the sale is over.

The Vertex 4 is considered as one of the best SSDs out there (especially after a firmware update). If you already have a computer or are currently gathering parts for a new build - GET THIS NOW before it's out of stock.

IF you've never tried to manage a small C drive in windows, prepare for agony. A 240GB SSD is in the $160 range. Over the life of the drive you'll really be glad you opted for something larger.

The current free fall in prices is in part the flash memory price falling. Smaller drives still need the controller, so even as flash price continues to drop don't expect too much more room for small drive price drops. (just like you never see $20 spinning hard drives, instead they stabilized at $50-$75 and just upped the size)

Or get 2 of these drives and get 256GB instead... : 0

HDD prices are still a tad inflated. IIRC, a few years ago, a 1TB was about $80. Now you can get a 500GB for that much. And how much does the controller cost? Is it a lot?
