So today I finally took the plunge and bought a Sandy Bridge based setup with a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 motherboard and i5-2500k. I also picked up an OCZ Vertex 3 120GB.
I just installed a fresh copy of Windows onto the SSD, and after running CrystalDiskMark I'm underwhelmed to see the 1000MB Sequential writes only amount to a speed of 450MB/s read and 170MB/s write. While this is fast, it's not what I paid 200 bucks for.
I enabled AHCI before installing.
Why am I not getting the performance I should?
