Hello,
I have Asus Rog Strix G712LV 17" laptop with intel UHD graphics and Nvidia RTX 2060 graphics.
All of a sudden, my laptop screen started to show vertical and horizontal lines.
Horizontal lines are very fine lines, causing difficulty reading small text such as icon labels. they are covering the entire screen and always there.
Where vertical lines keep changing, sometimes they are covering the entire screen, sometimes they are very less. Also they become light and disappear with opening/closing random files or moving the mouse cursor. Verticles lines are not visible on white screen and most visible on black screen.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the both graphics drivers for Intel and Nvidia and restarted the laptop multiple times but it did not help.
What should I do. My laptop is not under warranty.

That looks like a hardware problem, drivers are not initialized before you boot into Windows and the problem still appears as I can see.

Do you have a separate monitor to connect your laptop to? If everything displays correctly on the monitor, that means that the actual display of your laptop is defective.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

I'd first check and see if your laptop is pending any BIOS updates. Following that check to see if your OS is pending any updates. Then use DDU to remove all GPU drivers(Intel, MAD and Nvidia) off of your platform in Safe Mode then manually reinstall with the latest driver sourced from Nvidia's support site.

Use GPU-Z and see what the first tab shows you. Pass on images. Do you see a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager?

I don't have a 2nd monitor. I took a screenshot from laptop and emailed it to myself to see it on my phone and the screenshot is perfectly fine.

Great idea, well then it seems that you reached the conclusion on your own. Looking like your display is faulty.

Safest option would be to get it to a repair shop and get it replaced, but that totally depends on how much the operation will cost.

So I ordered new screen, replaced it. it worked. then next day, I turned back my laptop, display was blank, I tried connecting it to 2nd monitor at my work, to my TV via hdmi port, no display. ALso, whenever I turn my laptop on it plays a tone along with displaying ASUS ROG logo. Now there is no tone when I turn ON my laptop. I am not sure its a display issue or another issue altogether where its failing to run the hardware? I can't go into BIOS settings which I am not sure whether its going into BIOS and the display is not working or some hardware is failing? I tried going to safe mode as well with no luck on display. How can I test it? I feel like it gets the power, fans start spinning but it does not make any other noise/beeping/asus tone. Seems like It does not go any furthers, its not booting up.

I disconnected the screen, disconnected the cable from the motherboard as well. Tried connecting to 2nd monitor and also to TV after, no display.

Thank you!

I tried with multiple technicians and it was costing alot of money that I couldn't afford. So I replaced it by myself and it was working fine for a day then the above mentioned stuff happen.
