[SOLVED] Vertical or horizontal?

I'm looking at a new case and I see that vertical mounting of a GPU is an option, though a riser cable is needed (at extra cost!). Is there any benefit in a vertical mounting?

Benefit: aesthetics only.
Not ideal for the standard fan cooler models due to proximity to the side panel - airflow choke point.

If you want to try your hand at vertical mounting, a liquid cooled, or a blower fan gpu model would be preferred.

Most case manufacturer implementations of vertical mounting sucks.

If wanting to vertical mount it is better to get a vertical mounting kit that will make the GPU sit further away from the side panel closer to the motherboard.
