HI, i have a laptop HP Pavilion dv6000, my screen is dark but i can see the icons in the background. I changed the inverter and the screen seems to last longer before going black but it still goes black. External monitor works fine. if its some bulbs Are they easy to change? Thanks

Solution
The bulbs are almost impossible to change. You can, but it's a real pain. Think of small fluorescent bulbs thinner than a pencil that basically glued behind the crimped metal.

It could also be the power to the invertor, that circuit is screwed. I've seen that before. I had another laptop that had a similar screen, so hooked up the screen to it, lit up perfectly, back into the original laptop, dim, flickery, etc. Replaced the invertor, same problem.

Most likely the fluorescent backlight. While it is possible to replace one, it's most definitely not a job for the faint of heart. The tubes are about the diameter of a pencil lead, are as long as the wide dimension of the display panel, made of <VERY> thin glass, and not in the least flexible. You're better off replacing the entire display panel.
