Very high memory usage; numbers don't add up

Sometime recently I've been having trouble with my memory usage. Here are some screenshots:
This is out of 8gb, and it doesn't seem to add up:

To verify I go to users to see how much in total these processes are using (Only ~1200MB):

I don't understand where all of it is going. I downloaded rammap and here is the breakdown:

What am I missing here? I checked some online solutions but can't seem to fix my problem. Maybe it's just time to buy more ram.

How many tabs do you have open? Chrome has always been a resource hog as it is and this should illustrate that quite clearly. It probably wouldn't hurt to run a full virus/malware scan just in case if you've not done so in a while. Finally, your assertion of just buying more RAM is probably the end outcome that eases your issues now and potentially later.

Only 1. I have a lot of extensions so thats why its over half a GB. Still doesn't seem to make sense. I ran a scan already too. I didn't always have this problem so hopefully nothing too sersious

Yeah. That does seem highly unusual but, as mentioned, Chrome is a resource pig. Try another browser and see if your results are the same. I'm preferential to Firefox but yours may be different. It's worth checking though just to see for the sake of comparison though it won't be truly apples on due to having no extensions.

Posting a list of running processes and hardware list may prove helpful in case it's a memory leak issue.

After you run RamMap what do you see under File Summary tab in the Active column? Does it show anything that appears to be out of the ordinary?
