So i had been experiencing frame drops in game etc and i decided that i will buy a motherboard soon (havent done it yet) But some time ago i got 8500 in score with a few framedrops then also but now i got freaking 4500 x2 What the heck. Will the motherboard fix this or is there something wrong with my gpu cpu etc? could the bad motherboard have damaged other components.

Specs:Msi Gtx 970 with 1 fan, fx 8350, MSI 970a-g43, 8gb ddr3 ram 1tb hdd bitfenix nova case (bad airflow) Also the physics score was 7k now and graphics score 4k same as last but why is my cpu getting better scores then my gpu when like 4 different people i have talked to said it was my motherboard

Solution
Yes mate absolutely , what you're seeing there is board vrm throttling under load.
The CPU temps are fine, not great but well within spec.
The lowest they get on those grabs is 11.8 which is essentially 60c load temps.

See how when the clocks drop the margin shoots up to 30c instantly ?? That's your evo doing its job well.

You said you had erratic temp jumps , now you know why.

absolutely mate, what does the evo use - think its just a couple of screws to the brackets??
so yes jus remove the heatsink, clean the cpu top & heatsink bottom as ive described ( a bank card is by far the best tool for the job - wipe up the excess paste dont let it drop on to the motherboard or around the cpu socket)

apply as the photo (id use a little less personally) & reseat the cpu cooler - dont spread the paste at all - the cooler will do that on its own.

Hey dude i applied the paste in like an X and it worked out nicely now idle temps are.. https://gyazo.com/17dd7e6292ca25545afdf42066694af7and they go down to 23 at times. And i havent got over 70 degreese yet only 68.
