Hey guys,

So I've been trying to get this fixed for at least 3 weeks now, and I have exhausted just about every solution I could on the internet, but I am getting abnormally low FPS on CSGO. I normally get between 80-100 FPS on my laptop, and I am actually getting about 80-90 on this PC. I built it just over a month ago, so all of the parts are brand new:

R5 1600 (OC to 3.9)
GTX 1060 8GB
MSI B350 PC Mate
Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000MHz DDR4

I have tried updating just about every driver I could, changed my power options, and optimized my GPU settings, but none of those have helped my performance. I know that there are a lot of people with this issue, but I feel like their solutions are more simple than this. If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Make sure all motherboard drivers are latest edition. Also make sure you have the latest bios.

On the flip side, it's also entirely possible it's not your pc, as such, but an issue with modem/router or isp. When you see really slow game times, I'd check Speedtest or similar, and see what kind of speeds you are really getting.
Did you get the latest motherboard bios update? Looks like A5 is the newest. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350-PC-MATE.html

CSGO loves RAM so make sure its running at atleast 2667 and dual channel is working. Use CPUz to check the RAM. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

Make sure windows isnt doing the Usable RAM bug and that your using a 64 bit windows.

Check to make sure shadowplay is off. Right click the nVidia experience Icon in your tray, left click the "Open NVIDIA GeForce Experience" from the popup menu, Click the "SHADOWPLAY" Button in the top right corner of GF Experience, THEN left click the button that looks like a power switch. Shadowplay "Off".

Probably mean a gtx1060 6Gb, not 8Gb.

Me. Cs:Go, i7-3770K @4.6GHz, gtx970 @124% OC. Solid 300fps

That Ryzen stock runs about the same IPC as a comparable Haswell cpu, so even without any real OC on the cpu and that gpu, you should be getting roughly the same 300fps.
So. Did you by accident plug the monitor into a motherboard connector instead of to the gpu? Be surprised at how many do that.
Did you set the bios for PEG as primary gpu? Be surprised at how many end up not doing that and are still using the igpu from cpu/mobo as primary and getting dismal fps.

Also, check to make sure that you disable Xbox DVR in windows settings, it can play hell with some games and fps.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Elbert, I made sure that my BIOS was updated to the most recent. My RAM is running dual channel.

I have heard about the WIN10 RAM bug, but it is not affecting my PC. I turned Shadowplay off, but I am still not having much luck. 🙁

Kara,

My monitor is connected to my GPU, Xbox DVR is disabled, but I am not sure where to check the PEG option.

I should also add that I am only having problems with CSGO, I can run Overwatch with 200+ FPS and PUBG with 70-80.

I've actually looked at that exact forum, and it helped very minimally. I now am getting about 110 FPS average, but still very underwhelming considering I have a 144hz monitor.

UPDATE: I have this issue on all games, not just CS:GO. I found this out yesterday when out of nowhere my FPS skyrocketed to an easy 250-300 FPS on both CS:GO and Overwatch. I even got a 30 FPS boost to PUBG, but when I started my PC up today, it went back to what it was before. So, I can only assume that there is an issue going on somewhere in my startup. But, I am not sure what could possibly be causing this issue.
