Hello people!
Since some weeks my Ryzen 7 3800X is having strange temp peaks, when it is completely idle.
It raise about 30-35 celsius degrees, in an apparently constant regular time interval.
As you can see from image CPU is 0% loaded, no processes taking more than 0.1%, but there are those peaks which do not correspond to any CPU usage.
CPU voltage is constant and ok. CPU clocks are fixed.

It is not a "mechanical" problem, since monitoring in BIOS the temp is constant and normal.
I did not installed nothing new, not changed any windows settings, and BIOS neither.

This smells like Windows Update...

My ryzen 9 3900x does the same exact thing even when idle. It will shoot up to 50c then it goes down to about 35c, then shoots back up 50c again and continues repeating but I notice when ever the temperature increases so too has the GHz increased momentarily

I I think its Ryzen's "boost" feature. Ryzen boosts processor speed for tasks causing temperature spikes. Even when idle it still boosts speed

You might not see it happening in bios as there's a lot more going on in windows than in the bios menu

I've heard temperature monitoring software can also sometimes cause this behavior

As long as your processor isn't overheating its nothing to worry about. The temperature under heavy load is what you want to keep an eye on
