That would mean either sata cable or the convertor is faulty. Try using different converter and sata cable

Did u change the ide converter as well? In which sata port you are connecting it. Try to connect in sata port with intel controller

Yellow ports are based on Intel Controller. Dark Brown ports are based on ASMedia ASM1061 controller. Connect the converter on any yellow port not on dark brown port because these SATA ports are for data hard drivers only. ATAPI devices are not supported.
