Question VG270U NITRO: Connection Zog G14 Ryzen9

Hi Bit out of the loop so need some help

Just bought a new laptop Asus Zog G14 Ryzen9 with Geforce RTX onboard, also a Acer Nitro VG270U Pbmiipx
But I can't get them to talk to each other! It'll show the display from my old Macbook Pro, but not the G14. I knows the cable is connected, but won''t show anything on the screen, any thougths?

OK think I've been rather daft, there are 2 HDMI ports on the monitor, HDMI 1 was the one I was using, now tried HDMI2 and its gives me a display

Beyond that I am still none the wiser!
