Question VG279QM not staying at 240hz

Recently my vg279qm starts at 84hz i change it in display settings to 240hz tab into a game and it stays 240hz until i tab out my screen goes black and it goes back to 84hz i realize typing this out its most likely software related and not hardware but im still so confused why its happened and if anyone has any tips or information that could help i would appreciate it a ton.

Ive also tried swapping the ends getting a new cable trying a different port on the gpu idk

okay so i went back to this driver 497.29-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql and it seems fine for now ill keep you guys updated incase anyone else is having this problem
