VGA adapter question

Hello,
does anyone know if i use an adapter, VGA to HDMI(or Display port to HDMI), on a monitor that has VGA output(or Display port output), would i be able to use this HDMI(from adapter) as output in order to stream my screen directly from the monitor?
Appreciate any help.

Very few monitors have an output of any kind. What model monitor do you have?

i am not talking about a specific monitor. I am talking about any monitor that has an output other than HDMI, if i would be possible to use it with an adapter.

Monitors, except a very few, usually designed for digital signage, don't have OUTPUTs. They have multiple INPUTS. So from a generic standpoint, you can't do what you want because a random monitor WON'T have any video outputs.

yes but like you said yourelf there are some monitors that have this feature, one example is Viewsonic VG2249. So my question is pretty valid, can i use an adapter Display port to HDMI in order to stream straight through my monitor (using a capture card that takes input from HDMI).

I asked you for a specific monitor and you answered "i am not talking about a specific monitor." Now you suddenly have a Viewsonic model number ...
That Viewsonic has displayport out. Displayport is a video interface that supports independent display daisy-chaining.
That has nothing to do with VGA, which is where this thread started.

In any case, my recommendation would be to use a second port on your graphics card with duplicated display to create a second stream for capture.
Failing that, an HDMI splitter BEFORE the monitor would create a second HDMI port for your capture card.

Unless you have a monitor already that you KNOW has functioning output of the type you want, don't bother with it.

Yeah, i didn't mention a specific monitor cause i didn't have one specific on my mind. I was just interested for a monitor that had a video output other than HDMI.

Also at my first post i did mention Display Port too, not only VGA.

I know that i can use a splitter before my monitor, just i am interested in streaming straight from my monitor.

I know that BENQ has a monitor with HDMI output, the RL2460HT . Do you know any other monitor that has this feature? Or any monitor that has VGA or display port out? i am asking you since i have find very few and its difficult to find them where i am so if you had any in your mind that would be very helpful.

I don't know of specific monitors, and don't care to research them. I wouldn't implement it that way.
