Just built a new computer and got a new monitor, I when I boot it up with either VGA or HDMI nothing comes up (I do hear the windows beep though.) But when I boot it with the DVI cable plugged in, it boots up.

Any ideas on what to do?

My Specs:
CPU: i5-4570
GPU: R9 270X Gigabyte OC Edition
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (getting 64-bit of Home premium this Friday)
RAM: 8GB
Mobo: Gigabyte B85-HD3

Solution

It appears then that there may be a problem with your monitor, as cables you know work don't work, and...
Try connecting either your monitor to another computer, or your new computer to another monitor (both if possible), as it could be your monitor. Probably unlikely, but it is possible that both your HDMI and VGA cables are broken, try using different ones.

Probably should've mentioned this, but I did have two HDMI cables to use. I tried it with the first one and plugged into both the video and mobo - nothing - tried it with other HDMI cable - nothing - Tried it hooked up to my laptop - still nothing on the monitor. I also know for a fact that at least one of the HDMI cables work, as I had it hooked up to my DVD player.

It appears then that there may be a problem with your monitor, as cables you know work don't work, and other computers have the same problem. The only solution I have for you in this case is to chat with your monitor manufacter's customer support and see if they can help you.
