Hello, after lots of searching im unable to locate a driver for my vga display. iv upgraded my dell dimension 5000 to win7 and unfortunately drivers where not made for my board for win7 🙁. iv read through varies threads on here and most end up solving the problem by using another dirver that just so happens to work but i cant find it, the info they leave at the end of the thread is very limited. Anyone have any ideas ? here is my chipset : intel i915p/i951g in a dell dimension 5000 3g ram. thanks

Only XP is supported on that model so it doesn't look promising for any later version. I would have checked before installing Win7 on it, and if I discovered that only XP is supported I wouldn't have pursued it any further.

I imagine it's more than just the GPU driver you need, but if that's the only driver you're seeking, well you could overcome that by installing a graphics card (any recent or new card will have Win7 drivers for it).

You have a rather old system but help is near. Simply use the internet to search for dell dimension 5000 drivers. They are all listed for download for windows 7 and windows 10. Please pay attention to your graphics solution. Is it Nvidia or Ati ? Do not forget to pay attention to the operating system specs. Is yours a 32 bit or 64 bit system? Keep all these parameters in mind . It is too easy to find drivers for your updated operating system.

Hello Phill , regards for the reply. Well its weird because windows driver update found all my other drivers with no drama, just the vga, and as for the a graphics card well i have a hd5670 from another system , it fits nicely and the fan spins but once again i dont think my motherboard will support it. When entering bios the board doesnt see the GPU, infact my bios only has the option to set disply to auto/default. No pci details or nothing. On top of that im not using a HD monitor im on a vga display and the HD5670 only had dvi and HD. I might have to through on the towl on this one but there must be something i can do for this one bloody driver. Thanks for taking the time to help, Rich
