Hello,
I recently just finished upgrading my pc with a new GPU. I had been running it with a GTX 1650 super just fine, and was just saving up some money to buy a RTX 4070 Super FE.
Upon installing the 4070 Super and trying to boot, I had issues with the display not turning on at all. Upon close inspection I noticed the VGA light on, in the motherboard. I have tried multiple things to try to remedy the issue (I will list them below).
- Reseated GPU (MULTIPLE TIMES)
- Checked GPU Cables/Connection
- Tried a different power supply
- Reseated RAM
- Updated BIOS
When I go back to my old GPU everything works fine it boots great. After installing the the RTX 4070 Super again, if I restart the system multiple times, it will eventually boot and seems to work fine. I did a clean install of GPU drivers with DDU uninstalling any old drivers. However if I shut the system down and turn it back on the VGA LED light comes back on. One thing I notice as well is when I run DXDIAG it shows the following message
"There is a problem with Microsoft Basic Display Adapter device. For more information, search for 'graphics device error code 31'"
This prompted me to reinstall drivers again. However I am still experiencing the same issues, with the VGA LED light, and the message in DXDIAG.
At this point I think it may just be a faulty GPU, I can still return it and get a new one however it will take some time since it's a FE edition card.
If anyone can provide some possible solutions to this I'd appreciate it!
