VGA or DVI I for monitor?

Hey guys,
Recently my vga cable broke so I was thinking to get a new one but my moniter also have a dvi I (dual link) port.
What you guys suggest,
old vga cable or o should get a hdmi to dvi i cable and will dvi improve any performance?

Get a DVI-I cable, better quality and more stable.
With stable i mean like you wont get thoes purple, blue, green or yellow colors on the screen if the cable is bad.
