[SOLVED] VGA POST light doesn't light up --- no video signal to the monitor ?

Hi! I purchased a computer with a msi pro a620n-e motherboard. There's no video. The monitor says there's no connection. The POST lights come on and go off except for the vga light which doesn't light at all. I've tried connecting to the monitor with a vga cable, a dvi with an adapter, and a hdmi cable. Shouldn't the POST light the vga light? I went through the tech support with the company I purchased the computer---I purchased on line. They had me boot the computer and tell them what the lights do. After going through the process 4 times with and without a monitor connected, they had me send it back.

They received it one afternoon and shipped it back the next day. I was leery when the package was the same one I sent back---there was a little bulge on one side where I put extra padding since the case has a glass side. Inside this box was another box containing the computer. I had left a note lying on top since I hadn't shipped it for a couple of weeks due to a printer problem (don't buy Epson---that's another story). The note was lying on top where I left it. I called customer service and got a run-around that they had taken the computer out of the carton and tested it with vga, dvi, and hdmi, and they all worked. It doesn't work for me. If the vga light doesn't go on during POST, then it's not working, right? Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Full system specs, including PSU make and model (or part number) is?

I went through the tech support with the company I purchased the computer---I purchased on line.

Since you bought a prebuilt, the store from where you bought it, is obligated to give you customer support.

The note was lying on top where I left it. I called customer service and got a run-around that they had taken the computer out of the carton and tested it with vga, dvi, and hdmi, and they all worked.

If given they don't know what the note contained (e.g you didn't tell them afterwards), i'd ask them to cite what your included note said.

If they give you the runaround or vague answer, it is clear that they didn't open the PC box and tested it. Instead, sent it back as it came.
In this case, i'd demand all my money back, send the PC back to them and look another store where to buy the PC from. Or better yet, DIY (meaning you buy all components separately and assemble it by yourself).

What i'd also like to know is, how willing you are on component replacement? Since if little to none (doesn't have the know-how), then it would be better to haul the PC to PC repair shop and pay for diagnostics.

As of what is actually wrong with the PC, impossible to tell without knowing full system specs, including PSU. All what we currently know, that you have AMD A620 chipset MoBo, some Ryzen CPU and some DDR5 RAM. And that's it. Can't diagnose and troubleshoot the issue with this little.

What is this? Namely, why it is inside the PC?

Overall, bottom of the barrel MoBo, even worse PSU and no dedicated GPU.

As of what to try;
Remove that HD onboard 3D graphics add-on card from the system, completely.
Plug the monitor to MoBo and look if you get an image.

You should, since CPU has iGPU in it.

Thermaltake 500W ultra quiet ATX Power Supply (6+2pin)x2

Thermaltake 500W units, most of them, are sub-par, so, i'm guessing that you have poor PSU. But to be sure, open up the PC case and take a pic of PSU's label. Afterwards, upload it to the net, e.g www.imgur.com and share the PSU label here.

Since just saying that you have Thermaltake 500W unit doesn't tell much.
It's like me saying i have Seasonic 650W unit. Can you tell me what PSU i exactly have?

Thanks for the response. This is solved. The HD Onboard 3D graphics Dual head, HDMI (only for CPUs with integrated graphics) means you have to use HDMI connection. I had to change my monitor's settings to HDMI manually, and it worked. How do I mark this as solved? Thanks.
