Question Video & Audio freezes when switching audio output ?

So I have a Macbook Pro M1 chip 2021, 13 inch.

When I connect my display through a hub/adapter through the usb-c port, and plug in the HDMI into the hub. I then switch audio to my second monitor that i just connected and I can't play any videos or watch anything because it just freezes and won't play.

It's only started happening recently, not sure if an update broke it or what but no clue how to fix it.

Any suggestions?

Which one freezes, the MacBook itself or the projection of the HDMI to the screen?

If it is the Macbook itself–try using a different HDMI cable. I had a wonky cable before and it was the main cause of the problem.

Idk if it's the second monitor/tv/screen tho
