So when I thought I was finished installing drivers after a new windows install, I had to restart my pc. When I did it launched and just sat at a black screen with my mouse cursor. I have done some research and found out the error is coming from my new video card drivers I installed. I could get around this by using safe mode but that doesn't let you use third party drivers from my mouse/keyboard.

In a brief summary: My old video card drivers wont let my go above 1600 x 1200 in resolution, and my new ones wont even let me sign in to my windows profile (though yes, it boots in to windows).

My video card is an Asus GTX 750 Ti if that's any help.

edit: i've just realised how stupid i am cause i used the quick question answering thing while in the CPU section... Sorry.

Solution
if you havent fixed it yet, your edit doesn't state:

video drivers can't keep you from logging in. if you're still in a type of safe-mode that would be the problem.

from safe-mode > uninstall the current graphics card software & drivers
boot back into regular Windows desktop.
install Nvidia's latest 750ti drivers from Nvidia.com.

listing your actual system info can help narrow down problems also: OS, motherboard, cpu, etc
