Hello,

Recently upgraded my rig and now when I startup my pc it doesnt detect my video card drivers, however:

After a few minutes the screen flashes and then the GPU works as intended and then it says the drivers are installed.

Latest Nvidia drivers are installed.

Windows had a fresh install because I changed Hardware components. (I know this is not nessecary but I like to do so anyway.)

Afterwards everything works fine and how its supposed to be, its just those first few minutes that bothers me.

I've been browsing the internet to find similar problems but with very few results.

NOTE: this only started happening after I changed hardware, Motherboard, CPU, RAM and m.2 SSD.

Specs:

i7 8700k
ROG STRIX Z390-F Gaming
ZOTAC AMP EXTREME GTX 1080
Corsair Vengeance RGB pro 16gb
500gb WD HDD
500gb SSD 850 EVO
500gb SSD 970 EVO m.2
Windows 10 - 64 bit

So, does this mean you can install the GPU drivers, but you also need to wait for the screen to flash for few minutes ? Do you have the latest motherboard's BIOS and firmware installed on your PC ? Try to reset all the BIOS settings to default, and/or try clearing/resetting the CMOS settings,, if need be.

Assuming the GPU has now being detected by the OS, can you post a GPU-Z screenshot, if possible ? What does it say under the DEVICE MANAGER settings ? "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter", or some other thing ?

EDIT: What's the make/model number of your PSU ?

Thanks for the reply,

Yes I can install drivers, but they are already installed. maybe this is a better explaination: It takes windows a few minutes to actually detect the drivers. What it DOES detect is the video card itself in device manager.

I just updated my bios on your recommendation.

My PSU is a Corsair RM 750X 80 plus Gold

Also, Do notice the time stamps on the next screenshot, This is basicly what is happening all the time.

It sounds like you just installed windows, so would you will willing to try the "Fresh Start" option? This will basically reset windows to a factory default state with the latest windows updates.

If you type in "Device Performance & Health" in the Cortana search box you should find a direct link to the windows page that gives you the Fresh Start option.

Before you do that, I would verify that your graphics card is correctly seated in it's slot and locked in place.
