Hey Everyone,

I posted a question like this a few weeks ago and wanted to get some more feedback.

here is my current build. I am looking for a video card upgrade and willing to spend up to 300 dollars on a new card. Mostly I will be playing battlefield 3. I am not a big overclocker. I would like to have the option but really don't plan on doing it. Right now I have a Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit. Would you recommend the MSI 6950 or another 6950? How much of an upgrade would this really be?

The only worthwhile single GPU upgrade from a 6870 would be a GTX 580, which is close to 30% faster. However it costs closer to $500. Honestly, it's not worth it for the amount of money you have to spend. You're really best off waiting for the 7000 series. At that point something more comparable to the 580 will be available for a better price. Anything less simply isn't worth it for the amount of money you would have to spend.
From a 6870 there really aren't any worthwhile upgrades within your budget, at least as far as single GPU cards go. As said above, the 6950 is only 10% faster. The only other card you could possibly fit in your budget might be a GTX 570, and that's only about 20% faster than the 6870. If you absolutely must upgrade now, the only really worthwhile upgrade would be to add a second 6870 and go Crossfire. If you don't want to Crossfire, you're best off waiting for the HD 7000 series cards to come out, hopefully that will give you more worthwhile single GPU upgrade options.

Thank you for the replies. If I want to put in another 100 dollars. making it up to 400 dollars, do you think there would be a worthwhile upgrade or should i just wait for hd 7000 series if you were in my shoes?
