Video card which one is better?

im only going to run 1 screen at a time. i am a gamer and want to get a pretty good video card. but i dont really know what i will need. will i really need a beast video card like this? i have asked around a little and found these two cards. which one will be better? if you have any advice on other cards that would be awesome!

i also dont have a ton of money to spend... so if there are any that is a step down form this that will not make my games lag i would love to hear about them.

The 660 ti is a little stronger than the 7870 xt

Whats important is screen resolution . If your screen is a lower resolution than 1080p you could save money and game really well with a cheaper card
