Hi, I'm asking this for a friend. I know quite a bit about gaming builds, but not so much about video editing rigs.

This is what he has :
i3-3XXX
8Gb
500Gb HDD
GTX 960

He wishes to upgrade to :
i5-6600K (LGA 1151)
Z170 mobo (LGA 1151)

For those of you Toms Hardwarians who do video editing, would he be alright with a Skylake i5 like this one or would an i7 be a better choice with hyper-threading and stuff?
Also, is 8Gb enough for all this rendering thing?

He'll be using Adobe Premiere for Video and Ableton Live for audio.

Thank you for your time

$373 or around 320GBP

You'd be paying right around $300 / 300GBP for a Skylake, or even a Haswell i7 alone.
