i need to replace my 2 old storage drives (2tb each) with a single new 6 tb drive, but i can't figure out which would be the right pick for me.
This new drive won't run the OS nor i will install any programs on it. It will only serve as a storage and playback drive for video files (movies and tv series).
From what i gather, a 5400 rpm drive should do the job just fine, is that right?
Wouldn't a 7200 rpm drive improve the performance on video files playback?
I often use plex to stream content to my tv....... If the files are stored on a 5400 rpm drive, would that effect the perfomance of the streaming process???
Could a 5400 rpm drive impact the performance of my torrent client (the torrent client itself will be installed on a different drive but the video files will be downladed on the storage drive)?
I know theese are probably silly questions, but i keep asking people and everytime i get a different answer.
Thanks in advance.
