So I have this video game called Joint Task Force and a while ago it used to run perfectly with medium graphic settings. Now however it freezes during explosions even with the lowest quality settings possible on my PC. One more thing: it also has a map editor which doesn't open, it says file type registration failed. Whatever you need to know tell me ind the comments and I will provide you the information.

Have you tried re-installing the game? Also, how do system resources look while playing the game? Is everything getting maxed out, or do you have plenty of CPU/GPU/RAM not being used?

Re-installing is the first thing I did. How do I monitor the system resources?

No, I usually try to close as many as possible. Skype mainly, sometimes uTorrent too.

How much should i put into the inital memory box and how much into the maximum box? Also how do I permanently stop some processes I have never seen before?

Well setting the maximum memory to double of the RAM I have didn't work, but could I somehow bring down the RAM usage?

As I said before, this game used to run prefectly even with medium settings so the problem doesn't lie there.
Could you please tell me a free reliable antivirus program.
I can't afford new hardware due to a thight economic situation.

You gotta have a slow rig to not be able to play that game. but I can help.

Try hitting the windows key and r at same time. Type msconfig to bring up the mc utility. Goto startup tab and uncheck everything. Hit apply, ok, and hit the restart button.

You dont need any of these running in the background while you game. They are just programs you would double click to open anyway. They are programs like itunes, quicktime, bloatware, and other third party programs.

If your slow rig ran it before this will help your performance a lot, maybe even better than it ran before.

If this doesnt help, you could have viruses, need a good reg clean, or your rig is about to poop the bed...

Also there is a freeware utility called GameBooster which easily shuts down unneeded process while you game. It's not some magical program that will actually boost performance, all it does is make available more of your RAM. It sounds like you need to really go through manually and check out what's eating all your ram but after you do that I find this is a quick way to handle jumping in and out of gaming. If you want to try it, I suggest not using the newest "Razor" version but the older 3.5.6 version. To me the newest version is crap.
GameBooster 3.5.6

I scanned my PC it found 9 infected files but couldn't remove them because of a incorrect function, any tips?

Thank you all for helping me, the freezes are less frequent now, but I looked this game up on can you run it and it passed everything with a reserve, so I don't undestand why this game keeps messing with me. Also is there a program which will tell me what kind of RAM do I have so I can buy more?

I dowloaded this gamebooster and could you tell me what the numbers in the left-upper corner show, mine are somewhere around 20, 22 or 24 usually.

If you couldn't remove the viruses with avg use malwarebytes. Its free and it will find all the viruses, malware, trojans, and even tracking cookies. Its probably the best tool you can use to remove viruses. Takes 3-10 minutes for a scan and Its free.
