[citation][nom]aspireonelover[/nom]HP is getting my money this summer... At least this device can multitask[/citation]
I'm pretty sure by the summer iPhone OS 4.0 will be out and it's "suppose" to do multi-tasking...

I wonder what the battery life is like...

At the same price as an average iPad and it can do everything an iPad can do and tons of stuff the iPad cannot.
The arguement of "Well I dont want my tablet to be a real computer" is just stupid. Fine, dont use it as a computer, use it as nothing but a glorified Kindle.
But when the day comes that you NEED it to be computer, it will be sat there, in the back, waiting for you to use it.
In the meantime I will be able to use the Slate to view my thousands of hours of AVI's that Apple won't let me import with iTunes, preventing me from using the iPad as a media player for anything other than what I have bought from them.

Slate For The Win, iPad for the bin.

Totally digged the progressive soundtrack in the background. Before watching the video I was listening to some trance. I thought it had unpaused itself.

Anyways, about the device. There's simply a point where I don't want a tablet. I'd be stoked if they could take their existing tablets and make them weight half as much...and keep the keyboard.

[citation][nom]RebelRising[/nom]@ hellwig: If you would even read the first sentence of the article, it states "Windows 7-based tablet..."[/citation]3rd sentence. Fail.

[citation][nom]grieve[/nom]better then the giant ipod i bet.[/citation]

I couldn't agree more.....this will be big competition for the rotten apple. Add flash, xvid and dvix support plus loads of PC compatible software and you have the makings of something that put the maxipad where it belongs.....in the rubbish bin.

Priced too high like the Apple iPad. These should be $300 tops for what you get.
The thing I found funny about this commercial is they accentuated putting a USB dongle and memory card. Very classy.

For the love of god, please stop it with slates. Time and time again they are proven to be vastly inferior to laptops and not to mention the fact they have not catches on in the YEARS... year YEARS, they have been around.

Good job apple, for showing the world is full of nothing but idiots who will buy something with your logo on it, because its seen as cool.

It's less capable than your typical $299 netbook and so it should be priced accordingly. I'd pay around $149 for an ipad or slate if I for some reason decided to use a mini laptop err supersize cell phone err paperweight.

[citation][nom]boudy[/nom]What article are you reading? :S[/citation]

I think he has a problem discerning between sentences and lines.

Wow, HP listens to what people want. Apple should try that. Although I can't think of a reason why I'd buy a tablet, I'd definitely go with this one over the iPad.

Also, did anybody else notice that 25% of the stories on the main page are about Apple? *Sigh*.

[citation][nom]maestintaolius[/nom]Personally, I'm more interested in the Asus Eee T101MT.[/citation]

I just picked up a T91MT. It's a very slick device.
