Viewing prevous hardware

i want to know if theres a way to check previous hardware before upgrade like my friend is saying he has installed new ram but i dont know how much so it would be helpfull to me thanks

oh man, i only posted it here because i have installed xp pro in my system so there should be a file or log which can tell recent hardware changes

Wrong track meaning there is no such 'file' or 'log' happenin'. Perhaps ask your friend for a receipt if He purchased the additional RAM that was installed. If the system is built by a builder like HP, DELL, etc. and was original check the original RAM specifications and do some industrial sized calculations if need be.

okay sorry i misinterpreted you ,all of the the things you suggested nothing going to work because of being no reciept and its not branded so thanks anyways for your kind help
