Viewing Samsung SPH-i700 Outdoors?

How does the screen of the Samsung SPH-i700 look in direct sunlight? I would
be using it a lot in an open convertible, so the screen must be visible in
sunlight.

It's not very good in direct sunlight. I'm very surprised as one would
think PDAs / phones would use displays designed for indoors or out. It's
about the only complaint I have about it.
