[citation][nom]Cons29[/nom]i know higher than 1080 is better, but personally im not looking for that yet since i play games a lot. With higher than 1080 my current setup will choke. Maybe when im able to buy high end video cards that can handle those. right now, mid range is all i can afford.and maybe when movies go beyong full hd[/citation]

I know what you mean...but if prices were similar, you could get a 16:10 then disable 'expand to fullscreen' in the monitor (i've always seen that option in LCDs and it is usually on) settings and play t he game at whatever resolution you wanted. You aren't pushing any more pixels and your picture/AR doesn't get stretched/skewed.

Worse case, you get a non stretched (smaller) picture with a higher pixel density -- if you are sitting in front of the monitor, it will probably improve perceived image quality at my assumed distance -- from couch may be a different story.

...finding a 16:10 at the same price as a 16:9 one, though, may prove tricky...

Even if the TV is frameless, wouldn't media streamed to it (cable/xbox/etc.) use frames? It's not like you're gaining anything, right?

My dream monitor
27-30" 16/9 weld screen just a little so it point at you from all directions. 120hz so you can get perfect smoth gameplay. at least 2560 x 1440 this rez would do but more is not a problem. if it would exist today id be willing to order it for 3000-5000 dollar today.

I don't quite understand the resolution discusions...still remember my good old Hercules 720x348 res... To me the "news" for the monitor is the frameless design (I hope it's not the one from the photograph).
In a multiple screen setup individual resolution do not matter so much (1050, 1080, 1200) while the bezel does. Don't know how do they fit the speakers there, but it would be good if the monitor could be vertically arranged (with thin bezels) in a multiple screens setup ...

I believe that they say frameless because the screen is flush with the borders much like a tablet screen is 'frameless'. However, this is BS...people are looking for bezelless displays.

But you know what?

When they come out with 2.35:1 or 2.6:1 displays, it' will be nearly the 3:1 eyefinity resolutions you are looking for in a single package.

If only they'd release screens that are 2600x1600 or whatever for less than $1000. Maybe if these ultra wide screens become popular the'll get priced for the masses, but for now, it's so expensive.

I dropped my eyefinity dreams a while ago, but if they can make an affordable 2.35:1 screen, well, that's practically the next best thing.
