So I got this monitor back in December. I think it was about 3 months after that, there was a power surge of some sort and my computer went dead while I was on. I loaded it back up and there seemed to be something off on the color or visuals, I thought it had reset something, so I did my best to fix the problem. Well, as I went on, I began to notice that maybe it wasn't just reset, but that something was seriously wrong with it, sometimes during games, it would get this major greenish tint. I tried reinstalling all the codecs and drivers, and it still doesn't seem to be fixed. The only other thing I can think of was that it was damaged possibly in the power surge. I have an APC surge protector, that has always done me justice.

I've already tried to plug it in to another computer, I am using DVI, I tried analog on the other computer (my video card doesn't have any analog plugins) same deal. And now when I tried plugging my monitor back in, the color tint is even worse.

So maybe I should try a new DVI cable, and if that doesn't work, I'm probably looking into getting a new monitor. I really like this monitor but if a problem like this happens due to the slightest power surge, I don't know if I can trust using it again.

I would really appreciate any info you guys could lend, and appologize for such a long post.

Hi, I think I have the same problem with you. In my case, the display shows some greenish/redish vertical lines. Sometimes, when I turn it on while the PC is off, it even shows white vertical lines when it should be pure black since there's no signal. Do you manage to get this fix?

I believe I have the same problem...

At first, I was noticing black vertical lines, mostly with red color... After awhile, the problem has been spreading to the blue/green color. It just seems that the monitor is dying on me. Don't know what to do.

Any luck? Is it just a bum unit?

I just end up sending it for repair. The Viewsonic repair guy said there's some loose cable inside, that's why it's happening randomly. This is the second time I've sent it for repair. The first time, they replace the whole panel, keeping just the black plastic frame, which went ok for about 4 month. I hope this time it last me a lot lot longer than that!

I have had clients experience similar issues.
Try to reset the monitor to factory defaults (they call it memory recall)
using the monitor menu and buttons.
It has worked for us.
