I've been looking for a new monitor, and at first I was going to get ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q, but the reviews are a nightmare. So it came down to two below.

ViewSonic XG2703-GS - $700
Panel Type: IPS
Resolution: 2560 x 1440, 4ms
165 Hz
2x USB 3.0 2x USB 2.0
1x Display Port, 1 HDMI

Acer Predator XB271HU - $748
Panel Type: IPS
Resolution: 2560 x 1440, 4ms
144 Hz (Overclocking to 165 Hz, does that mean it's the same with ViewSonic?)
4x USB 3.0
1x Display Port, 1 HDMI

Am I missing something here or is ViewSonic a better product but lower price?? As far as aesthetics go I like both. Also how reliable are the two models?

I just edited my post. It looks like Acer also reaches 165 Hz with Overclocking, though ViewSonic specs do not indicate whether 165 Hz is with Overclocking or not. I don't actually even know what that means lol.

Anyway, according to the specs they are both pretty much identical. Only difference is $50 and the two USB ports. I guess I have to rely on personal experiences at this point?

Hi Megabear,

I find myself in your exact same position deciding between the two monitors. I was wondering if you ended up making a decision or trying them both out etc?

I ended up winning ViewSonic XG2703-GS on a raffle! I was so happy, but then I realized I have AMD card and wasn't taking advantage of G-sync tech lol. God, I need to catch up on tech. NOW I'm debating whether to upgrade my AMD card to NVIDIA card or not...
