[SOLVED] virtual machine or linux on a usb?

I had trouble setting up a virtual machine so I tried the software i wanted to try using ubuntu on a usb stick. I wonder now, is this as safe as a virtual machine, if I want to reuse the usb (with or without formating it?)

It's perfectly safe as long as you don't "burn" the usb image to a hard drive 😛
You can clean the partitions from the usb with any partition manager even the one that comes with windows and it will become a normal usb again.
